THE LEAST YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MEDICAL DEBTS AND BANKRUPTCY:

- Medical expenses are not your fault.

Medical Debts Bankruptcy
Credit-cards and mortgages are not the only type of debts dealt with in bankruptcy.  Medical debts incurred in the process of dealing with severe medical problems can affect you for years after your health problems have passed.  A study published by Harvard professor Dr. Elizabeth Warren showed that over half of all bankruptcies were related to medical debt.  What is alarming is that of those bankruptcies over 75% of the people had health insurance!

It is possible to do everything right and still find yourself unable to pay your medical bills.  Luckily, medical debts are usually forgiven in bankruptcy.  But medical debts occasionally have special issues that must be dealt with, so make sure to speak with an experienced bankruptcy attorney so they can best advise you on your options.
